When you enter Yoshi’s you may feel as though Fred Sanford (Sanford and Son) died and came back as a Japanese Restaurant owner. Despite the chaotic ambiance, this tasty little gem offers a unique ceremonial experience. Sit at the horseshoe shaped bar where you and your date have your own Japanese hot pot bowl of broth to cook your food. Shabu Shabu translates to “swish, swish” which is the technique used to cook thin-sliced raw meat and veggies in the pot. Choices consist of beef (our fav), chicken, seafood or pork -- you also get your share of veggies.

You end up with a yummy broth that screams out for noodles--which arrive at precisely the right moment to turn the broth into delicious noodle soup. Fear not, lessons in Japanese or English are given on the swishing technique—it’s all part of the package. Oh, try not to step on the accounting books on the way out.
