Museum of Death
If murder, death and serial killers are your thing, we've found the place for you. Warning! the Museum of Death is not for the squirmish or those with a low threshold for creepy.
The MOD is owned and operated by husband and wife team J.D. Healy and Cathee Shultz who are just as much a part of the experience as the eclectic collection that runs though all 16 rooms. They see their museum as an educational institution that explores death in all aspects including body bags, mortician instruments, vintage funeral equipment, crime scene photos, traditional burial clothing and an actual electric chair (they recently purchased clothing used during an execution that drapes over the chair, body stains and all). We did mention the creep factor earlier right?
True crime junkies might enjoy the exhibits dedicated to Charles Manson, the Black Dahlia and the Heaven's Gate Cult--complete with a bunk bed and other items purchased when the cult's estate was sold at auction.
If you want to try and get into a serial killer's mind, there is plenty of their art work to analyze courtesy of John Wayne Gacy, Richard "The Night Stalker" Ramirez and Lawrence Bittaker. Perhaps one of the most haunting pieces J.D. and Cathee have collected are completed questionnaires that they sent directly to these killers in jail. According to Cathee, no one writes you back faster than a serial killer. Good to know.
Prepare to face your own immortality and feel free to ask plenty of questions about their collection if you're still standing by the time it's over. As you exit the building, you will be sure to hear "Have a nice life."
Tip: Make sure you ask to see the two headed turtle that lives at the Museum.

Lucifers Pizza
Pizza to die for.
Take some NY dough, fancy toppings (roasted pumpkin, arugula, sliced pineapple and shaved coconut to name a few), flame cook it and you've got yourself one hell of a tasty pizza joint.
Lucifers is located in the heart of the Los Feliz village. It's a small space with a modern and dark twist, cool vibe, open kitchen and lounge music. We must stress that--though friendly as all get out, they don't especially cater to the eat-in-crowd, so there are only a few tables inside and out.
We were impressed with their healthy options such as gluten free dough and vegan cheese. FYI: before you order they want to know if you are hot or not! With that in mind, be sure and order your pizza according to their chili rating: zero, medium, fiery or blazing, depending on your fear factor.
You'll make it out alive and swear that was some damned good pizza.
Tip: Join the Lucifers R.I.P Club and your 11th pizza will be free.
