The building is small with a character more appropriate to a London neighborhood than Venice Boulevard. Inside is quiet darkness lit by dim candelabra, punctuated with ambient sounds reminiscent of the womb and filled with curiosities to amaze, delight and remind you that everything is bound with secret knots.

A tribute to dogs of the Soviet space program, fruit stone carvings, the Stink Ant of Cameroon, the Horn of Mary Davis of Saughall, microminiatures, micromosaics and floral radiographs are just some of the relics from rarely encountered cross-sections of time and space. The exhibits are just the beginning of your journey.

We highly recommend Lawrence Weschler's book on the subject, Mr Wilson's Cabinet of Wonder, which was a finalist for both the National Book Critics Circle Award and the Pulitzer Prize–but don't spoil your experience by reading it first.
