Tell us why we like Mondays
Barnsdall Art Park
Perched high on a hill above Los Feliz, with art galleries, a sculpture garden and a Frank Lloyd Wright house, Barnsdall Art Park offers the perfect date for a variety of situations.
Scenario 1: You have a reservation at Little Dom's (see below) for 8:00 on a Monday and a half hour to kill beforehand. Instead of hanging around the bar waiting for your table, take a pre-dinner stroll through Barnsdall's sculpture garden and end up on the lawn to take in one of the best sunset vistas around. Bring a bottle of wine and a blanket to spread on the grass and watch the sky over Griffith Observatory blush at your canoodling.
Scenario 2: You've cleared a Saturday afternoon with your sweetheart and are looking for a special way to spend it. Bring a picnic, walk through the galleries and tour Hollyhock House, the first residence Frank Lloyd Wright built in Los Angeles.
Scenario 3: You are a well-organized couple who wants to share the excitement of learning something new together. Whether it's ceramics, mosaic-making, or life drawing that tickles your dual fancy, sign up for one of the many art classes offered at the park and find how being artsy together translates to creativity in all areas of your relationship.
Tip: Because it is on top of a hill, people live in the neighborhood for years without even knowing Barnsdall is there. Look for the banner on the iron fence that runs along Hollywood (across from the Steve Allen Center for Inquiry). Once inside the lower parking lot, follow the winding road up and park at the top where all the goodies are hiding.

Little Dom's Monday Supper
A recession you say? Stuck on a tight budget? Don't fret that pretty face, Little Dom's has come to your rescue with their fifteen-dollar, Monday night three course suppers.
With a stunning vintage wooden bar and striking leaded glass windows (salvaged from an old building), you'll feel like this place has been in the hood forever. Little Dom's is hip yet comfy and a nice place to cozy up to your date. The dining room has an old Hollywood meets modern Rat Pack look and the outside tables give a surprisingly charming neighborhood feel. You might not be in Nolita, but it's close. No matter where you sit, your server will not forget you.
Chef and partner Brandon Bordet (Dominicks, 101 Coffee Shop) pulls many of the ingredients for his menu from the local Hollywood Farmers Market. For $15 you can enjoy a green salad, salsa glazed bbq brisket and a chocolate budino almond croccante. Better yet, you get to chase it all down with $10 bottles of Dago red/white and $2 Perroni on tap.
We're sure Sammy, Dean and Frank would've shown up for this one.
Tip: Reservations are strongly recommended. Be sure and check their website for the Monday night supper menu as it changes weekly.
