Laurel Canyon Park
If you're in the market for a new place to take your pooch for an off-leash romp, the dog park at Laurel Canyon Park has a lot of perks the paw print set will appreciate. Not only is it one of the largest off-leash dog parks we know about in the LA area, but the grass-covered, bowl shaped acreage has some strolling room to make it quite attractive to human cohorts as well.
Besides the ample space to chase balls, squirrels and other dogs, your pooch will appreciate the plethora of spots to sniff (it's not the freshest scented park in the land, but then it is a dog park) and the raised water station. You, on the other hand, will find the numerous benches, tables and shade trees, conducive to chatting, canoodling and watching your pups romp while you look on adoringly.
We recommend while your canine companion sniffs out some new pals, you and your human companion stroll the perimeter and enjoy the beautiful canyon view.

Hugo's Tacos
After a good dog park adventure, we recommend bringing human and canine comrades to the covered patio at Hugo's Tacos where everyone can have a delicious (and nutritious) snack.
Hugo's is the taco stand the farmer's market set dreams of. They've got all the delicious Mexican food you love with the added perk of organic spices, beans and rice and exceptionally fresh produce and ingredients. They've also taken the taco to new heights with their homemade special salsas. We think a fish taco with the honey/chipotle sauce can't be beat. But with the make-your-own-taco menu, at $2.50 a pop, we invite you to try. And since $2.50 is actually less than a cookie at the dog bakery, go ahead and get one of two for the pups as well (we did say everyone was going to have a snack).
More than vegetarian friendly, the vegetarian options are actually the place to start. The soy-chorizo is a treat. And what other taco stand offers to fill your burrito with zucchini, corn and string beans? Good for you, but the doggies will probably prefer chicken or beef.
