Cemetary Movie

Cinespa Cemetary Classic Movie Screenings

Don't be so squeamish and make sure you experience one of LA's summer institutions. Mid-century films and cult favorites are projected onto the white marble wall of Rudolph Valentino's tomb inside the historical Hollywood Forever Cemetery Saturday and Sunday evenings through mid-September. Adjacent to Paramount Studios, the cemetery is the final resting place to more stars than anywhere else in world. Doesn't that make it more appropriate?

Pack a picnic dinner, a bottle of wine and plenty of blankets and pillows to cozy up next to your honey. Just make sure you adhere to a few rules: no dogs and no tall chairs (trust us, a hard fast rule). A guest DJ spins before and after every screening giving you more of a reason to arrive early and stay late. Oh and if you forgot your wine opener, I bet the guy next to you will let you borrow his. It's just that kind of vibe.

Don't worry, no Poltergeist moments here...yet.

Coming attractions: July 4th: Jaws July 5th: Brazil - be sure and check out their website for upcoming movies.

Papa Cristos

Where else in LA can you get your cheeks pinched while you enjoy the best tzatzki in town? Papa Cristos, of course. A warm welcome from Cristos accompanies this part Greek market (wonderful imported selections), part restaurant. A great place to put together a Greek picnic for two with fresh bread, hummus, olives, cheese, kebabs and greek yogurt with honey.

If you prefer to dine in, place your order at the kitchen and a server will bring your food. Remember, you're here for the food (specifically the rack of lamb with lemony potatoes) so don't let the plastic plates distract you.

Thursday night is traditionally "My Big Fat Greek Dinner" with family style dinners and Greek Entertainment (belly dancer). Don't blame us if you end your Friday morning meeting with a kick line shouting "Opa!".

Ok. These prices are averages for one person eating a meal including one drink and a tip. If you play football for the Giants and eat three main courses in a sitting, you should probably expect to pay more.

$ Thrifty, under $10
$$ Middle of the Road, $11 - $30
$$$ Gettin' up there, $31 - $60
$$$$ Go baby go, $61-100
