One of the best features of Silverlake are the stairs. Winding through the architecturally significant hills are literally hundreds of stairways connecting lower roads with upper roads and providing unexpected tours of the area. The only trick is finding them.

The Big Parade was a several day stair hiking event covering many of the stairs in Silverlake, Los Feliz and Echo Park. Tip: Choose one of the colored routes on the map and zoom in to print a readable, and less time consuming, version. We quite like the light blue route on the Day Two map that takes you up above the Silverlake Reservoir - partly for the view, and partly because of its proximity to some very nice brunch spots.
